New ITM-3A Turbidity Sensor released for sale!

We are pleased to announce the introduction of the Negele ITM-3A turbidity sensor, the latest development in our expanding line of application-specific products. This sensor combines our proven “backscattered light” technology with the latest generation of Negele electronics to provide an expanded feature set and simple operator interface.

One of the key new features is the provision of 4 easily selectable ranges, where any two of the standard ranges can be remotely selected via a 24Vdc input. This allows a single unit to be optimally programmed for multiple products in the same process line without sacrificing resolution.

The unit also features a backlit LCD display of the analog output variable in milliamps as well as a percent display of the overall relative turbidity.

Finally, a single switching output with adjustable setpoint and hysteresis is included as a standard feature for local or remote alarming, allowing customers that are doing manual cut-overs to semi-automate that process without the need for a remote display unit.

The ITM-3A will be a great solution anywhere a change in turbidity can be used to signal, alarm, or automate the next step in the process. Applications include phase change detection in dairy and beverage processes, CIP return lines, yeast harvest automation in breweries, and filtration monitoring.

The ITM-3A will complement our proven HT transition sensor, which will continue to be available for simple transition control applications. Please review the attached brochure and pricing information. The ITM-3A in 1.5” and 2” tri-clamp are available immediately at standard 5 day lead-times. 2.5” and 3” tri-clamp units are available at 3-4 week lead-times until demand levels are established.

- Provides longer bulb life then traditional Tungsten bulb technology
- Is less expensive to maintain

Turbidity is an important variable in many sanitary fluid processing segments, including bottled water, brewing, winemaking, and COW water in the cheese industry. The ITM-4 provides a flexible, yet robust solution that is price competitive with incumbents such as Optek, Mettler-Toledo, and Sigrist. Features include 11 selectable ranges (any 4 with remote selection capability), 4-20 mA as well as switching output, and a simple user interface for set-up and diagnostics.
